Well no time like the present to start your TM education especially when your given your diagnosis.  At first I had no desire to learn.  I mean if I can get through this its just a one off experience anyway. Right? Maybe, maybe not.  For me it was not just a “one off” experience as I had hoped.  So, after my second relapse I went looking for answers.  This is what I found.  Two Transverse Myletis centers exist.  One in Dallas, TX UTSouthwestern Transverse Myletis Center and one in Baltimore, Michigan at the John Hopkins Institute.  I am closer to the one in Dallas, TX however, am not under the care of their specialist Dr. Ben Greenberg (Google him… as far as TM he is one of if not the best)!  I also found there is a Transverse Myletis Association where you can get great information.  Go to myletis.org you can find the best information about TM on this site.  You can see if a support group is in your area or listen to podcasts on TM and other very rare neuro auto immune diseases.  I suggest “Transverse Myletis 101.” I encourage you and your family members to join the TMA as soon as possible.  They will keep you up to date on all of the support group meetings as well as the yearly symposium given by both the UT and John Hopkins centers.

** I was told the symposium is a two day affair and covers every possible topic you can think of in regards to TM.  This year for 2015 it will be held in Dallas, TX from October 23rd-24th.  Early registration starts now and ends July 31st.**
